History
Founded in the early 1970s as a supplier for bicycle production, Renault took over the helm in 1978, heralding the era that continues today as an automotive supplier. The Gleisdorf plant was sold as part of the restructuring of the French automotive group. The then state-owned Austria Metall AG (AMAG) took over, a few years later it was sold to the German Mössner Group, which in turn sold the site to the Swiss Georg Fischer Group in 1999. The next owner, Bavaria Industries Group AG, entered the ring in 2009.
Since 2016 Austria Druckguss has been owned by the Zhongding Group based in Ningguo, Anhui Province. On its 40th anniversary in 2018, the company was awarded the Styrian coat of arms.
